In line with the goal of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) that all airlines be 100% electronic ticketing capable effective January 2008, SV Manila station has activated the use of e-ticketing (ET) facility during the early weeks of the second quarter this year. Official cut-over for Manila, set by head office to be e-ticketing effective was March 29, 2007.

Prior to the cut-over, a two-day training was held last March 26-27 at the TWASP Training Room, primarily to set the environment of SV for e-ticketing and as well as prepare all agents and staff in understanding basic ET processes and procedures. The training was conducted by Ms. Vivien Armenino, a Training Specialist from SV London Training Center. Introductory courses for all departments were covered, from reservations, ticketing, post departure and even sales reporting. This is for every participant, coming from the reservation/ticketing and airport operations and sales office, to appreciate the logical connection of all service areas concerned upon implementation of e-ticketing. Participants from SV Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur offices were also present during the said training. |

The launch of the e-ticketing project of SV had its initial stages of implementation in the Kingdom stations last February 04, 2007, in selected domestic sectors only. After which, the project will be initiated to nearby international stations in the European and Asian continent until such time the whole Saudi Arabian Airline system is e-ticketing capable by the end of 2007 to comply with the standards set by IATA. ET serves a number of benefits for SV in the simplification of future businesses by providing infrastructure for sales and passenger check-in over the internet, increase of revenue accounting efficiency and the improvement of customer service. |
