ET Calls for Cargo ex-MNL |
| |
Travel Wide has been Ethiopian Airlines’ GSA for both passenger and cargo for a few years now. However, the cargo part has been inactive due to space constraints from their on-line stations Hong Kong and Bangkok to its hub at Addis Ababa.
This year, ET has re-instated its support for cargo through its passenger fleet of B767-300 and B757-200 aircraft with its expanded services throughout the African continent. Ethiopian cargo also operates dedicated freighter aircraft on charter and scheduled basis to accommodate more cargo. With ET’s widened network, Cargo sales can be more aggressive in penetrating the market and enhancing cargo traffic from the Philippines to various destinations in Africa.

For the past years, Global Cargo Carriers Inc. (GCCI), has taken pride in its various contributions in the industry. Beyond the social events (sports activities, amateur singing) the camaraderie amongst airline members and customers in the industry, the organization snowballed outside the walls of its industry. In the glimpse of what GCCI has achieved, one can ruminate on the various charitable institutions such as Tabang Mindanao, Lungsod ng Kabataan, Cancer Society for Children and Samaritans Place Orphanage that has benefited from it.
This year, together with its business partners and friends, the 1st GCCI Fun Run “Takbo para sa Kabataan” was organized and participated by its member airlines including Saudia, held last May 25, 2008 at the Liwasang Ulalim at the CCP Grounds Complex Pasay City.
The fundraising project was done thru the sponsorship of Mizuno Sports, Unilab Phils, RFM Corp, Amadeus Mktg, and Fitness First for the benefit of the students of Tambo Elemenetary School (Main & Unit 1) and Camp Claudio Elementary School in Parañaque to put up mini computer libraries in their respective areas.
The unutterable joy experienced by its beneficiaries gives the organization more reason to continue to help.
