As overseas labor movement in the Philippines reach unprecedented levels of growth at present, with Saudi Arabia consistently being the top destination country over recent years due to the abundance of employment opportunities spurred by its on-going infrastructure development and construction projects, the demand for adequate airline capacity to carry Filipino workers to the kingdom has been steeply rising more than ever. Saudi Arabian Airlines, being the Kingdom’s national flag carrier, responds to the highly growing needs of its local market in the Philippines by augmenting its current frequency with one (1) additional flight, thus now increasing its direct operations from Manila to Saudi Arabia to nine (09) flights per week. This started last July 2009.

Flight SV 877 operates every Friday. Its commencement departure was last July 03. With its current fleet of B747-300 and B747-400, the additional capacity is expected to boost up revenue and profitability for the airline.   This important development in Manila station was realized under the effective management of its newly appointed Country Manager, Mr. Abdullah I. Alazhari. Being one of his topmost priority projects, Mr. Alazhari said that by increasing the weekly operations in Manila from eight (8) to nine (9) flights, Saudia is expected to further strengthen its market presence and gain a strong competitive advantage. Intensive sales activities are currently being reinforced in the local market to actively promote the new flight to various customers and top commercial accounts with on-going deployments to KSA.

At the face of a highly changing and dynamic landscape of today’s air transport industry, Saudi Arabian Airlines continues with its thrust of providing quality and exemplary service to all of its passengers. The addition of flight SV 877 to Manila station’s weekly operations is an important step in aligning itself towards Saudia’s mission of being a world class airline across major routes around the globe.
