Saudi Arabian Airlines, being the official carrier of the Umrah and Hajj movement in the Philippines, marked noteworthy success for a smooth facilitation of the 2007G / 1428H Umrah pilgrimage. Through the unified efforts of the Sales Department, including reservations and ticketing, the intervention provided by SV Country Manager, Mr. Ali Almowalled, and as well as the support of the Office on Muslim Affairs (OMA), the duly appointed government agency to promote pilgrimage and endowment in the country, total carried Umrah pilgrims this year leaped 40 percent higher than 2006. A total of 854 pilgrims traveled to Jeddah as compared to only 610 during the previous year, with their first flight leaving last September 21. The final batch of Umrah performers left last October 01. This movement is a major source of revenue sales for the station, contributing to the achievement of its year-end targets.

Umrah is one of the five pillars of Islam and is performed by Muslims annually. The pilgrimage is also believed to be a preparation for those who will be undertaking the Hajj.
