Last 15th of November 2007, the Global Cargo Carriers, Inc. once more celebrated its 7th annual industry awards at the Harbor Garden Tent Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel with much success.
The pursuit of perfection is a never-ending road towards continued improvement and the challenges that need to be ultimately met. All these efforts should be recognized. This year, the GCCI Industry Awards once again honored those who contributed exemplary achievements in the areas of Airfreight Management, Transport and Network Equipment Management, IT and Communication Infrastructure, the Logistics and Warehousing Facilities. Topping the grand recognition for excellence were DHL Global Logistics and Nippon Express Phils. for the year 2007 “Forwarder of the Year".
The evaluations made by the participating Freight Forwarders and the members of the GCCI were equally considered and tabulated by PunongBayan and Araullo to make sure transparency and fairness is practised through the entire process of deliberation.
The GCCI paid tribute to Mr. Lito Colona of Eagle Express Lines Inc. for his remarkable contribution and total commitment to the airfreight industry and bestowed upon him the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Finally GCCI members bowed their heads and offered their gratitude to the Airfreight Community for standing up to the demands of global competition without compromising the worldwide quality standard and integrity.

Account Executive Aina Santos accompanied the Manila tour group to Brunei Darussalam last October 13-16, 2007 to take part in the Hari Raya celebrations at the end of Ramadan. Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a joyous event as Brunei comes alive with lights and décor as locals donning traditional garments scurry about visiting family and friends.
It is only during this special occasion that the Istana Nurul Imam is open to the public for Hari Raya greetings with His Majesty the Sultan and other members of the Royal Family to wish a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The wide-eyed tour group visited the Palace. Locals and tourists alike patiently queued for the greetings. The open house feast was also a sight to behold as special dishes were prepared and spread for the public.
The group also got to see the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan at its most colorful and lively time during the City Tour and Kampong Ayer (or Water Village) Tour.
Meanwhile in Manila, the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam also celebrated Hari Raya with an open house hosted by H.E. Ambassador Emaleen Abd Rahman Teo on Oct. 18, 2007. SMMPH Joel Aquino, Sales Manager Manuel Rigor, Susan Pica, Landasul Ismael and Czarina Lacerna of Royal Brunei Airlines were invited to partake of the festive dishes with Hari Raya tunes played in the background.

The Department of Foreign Affairs International Bazaar Foundation Inc., in cooperation with the Diplomatic and Consular Corps of Manila, hosted the 41st International Bazaar on November 25, 2007 at the PICC Forum.
Vice President Noli De Castro inaugurated the event then later made his way to each booth greeting the heads of the diplomatic missions. Each diplomatic mission merchandised local treats ranging from crafts and souvenirs, to jewelry, food stuffs, textiles, clothing and cosmetics.
At the request of the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam, Royal Brunei Airlines participated in the event with Account Executive Aina Santos and CTO/Reservations Agent Czarina Lacerna handing out promotional materials to intrigued shoppers.
Throughout the day prizes were raffled off by the foundation organizers with a grand draw which included airline tickets sponsored by Royal Brunei Airlines and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. The lucky winner of the round trip Manila-BS Begawan-Manila ticket was Mr. Julius Flores of the Philippine Embassy of Berlin.
